The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)) has announced a new stop on its Cyber Security Maturity Model (CMMC) listening tour: the Cloud Security and Compliance conference.
Hosted by Summit 7 Systems, the one-day conference will be held in Huntsville on August 27, 2019.
Registration is available here.
Presenting the CMMC program will be Stacy Bostjanick, Head of Contracting for the Defense Intelligence Agency. Ms. Bostjanick will join four other industry experts, include Heather Engel of Sera-Brynn; Richard Wakeman of Microsoft; Matt Henson of Trade Collaboration Engine; and Scott Edwards of Summit 7 Systems.
Ms. Engel of Sera-Brynn will present on how to prepare for a DFARS and, ultimately, a CMMC audit.
For more information on the CMMC program, visit the CMMC website. Upcoming listening tour locations and dates are listed on the website.
Regarding the listening tour, as previously reported, representatives from the Department of Defense have been touring the US to present the CMMC and solicit feedback from the Defense Industrial Base sector. With each presentation we learn more about the Pentagon’s plans to develop this new cybersecurity standard that government contractors will need to follow before they can win a contract.
The inclusion of Huntsville on the tour is significant because the area’s Aerospace and Defense contracting community will likely be subject to the audit requirements of the CMMC program. See Huntsville Chosen as the Backdrop for New DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification.
