Press Release: Sera-Brynn Renews Certification as a FedRAMP Certified Third Party Assessor for Cloud Service Providers
CHESAPEAKE, VA – January 14, 2021. Sera-Brynn, a leading cybersecurity firm, announced that it has been granted renewal of its certified status in the U.S. government’s Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
Sera-Brynn’s status as a Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO), which first became active in 2017, is extended as the company continues to demonstrate the technical competence required to audit and test cloud service providers’ products.
FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security for the cloud. Under the program, 3PAOs are required to be accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). The A2LA assessment process involves a rigorous evaluation of technical competence and compliance with international standards.
Sera-Brynn is one of only 39 organizations worldwide to obtain this designation as an inspection body to assess cloud systems under the FedRAMP program.
In addition, Sera-Brynn’s in-house security team is authorized to perform penetration testing in accordance with the rigorous FedRAMP penetration testing guidance.
“Maintaining FedRAMP 3PAO status has been a long-standing strategic objective of Sera-Brynn. Sera-Brynn can now continue to provide a full range of FedRAMP services to its clients, including penetration testing services of SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS platforms,” states Colin Glover, Principal and lead assessor for Sera-Brynn’s FedRAMP program.
“Our deep understanding of FedRAMP cloud security has benefited our clients who must evaluate the security of their cloud-based vendors under NIST 800-53, NIST 800-71, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) frameworks,” added Colin Glover.
Founded in 2011 by former members of the U.S. intelligence community, Sera-Brynn partners with some of the world’s most respected and recognized brands to help them secure their infrastructure and meet cybersecurity compliance requirements.
