Sera-Brynn Adds Financial Services Industry Executive to Advisory Board

Suffolk, VA – Virginia-based Sera-Brynn, a global leader in cybersecurity compliance and risk management, announced today that it has named retired financial industry executive Ward Robinett to its advisory board.

Robinett served in the banking industry for 44 years, including a 23-year stint with Central Fidelity that is now operating as Wells Fargo. He finished his career working at TowneBank for 14 years as a founding officer and director.

“I’ve watched the last seven years as Sera-Brynn has become a global leader in cyber security compliance and risk management,” said Robinett. “They play an important role for the defense industrial base headquartered here in Southeastern Virginia. But what many fail to realize is that cybersecurity is a vital component for the success of financial services institutions as well as our global supply chain. I’m excited to bring my experience and the perspective of a financial services executive to Sera-Brynn as they continue to grow.”

Robinett also retired as the Interim President and CEO of the Southeast Virginia Community Foundation. In 1989, he was recognized with the First Citizen of Portsmouth Award for his outstanding civic and charitable achievements to the Portsmouth and Hampton Roads communities. That same year, he was also awarded with the Liberty Bell Award by the Norfolk-Portsmouth Bar Association; presented to individuals who show an appreciation and respect for the rule of law and sense of civic responsibility.

“We’re excited to have someone with Ward’s reputation and experience sitting on our advisory board,” said Rob Hegedus, Chief Executive Officer for Sera-Brynn. “His insight into the financial services industry, how it has changed over the years and the new demands it faces help our company better meet the challenges of our clients and offer continued excellence in helping manage their risk.”

Sera-Brynn’s primary focus is helping commercial organizations interpret and meet cybersecurity regulations and subsequently manage risk. Their client base includes some of the world’s largest and most recognized brands in the defense industrial base and the financial services industry. They also counsel government agencies, manufacturers along the supply chain, healthcare and life sciences companies, cloud service providers, and colleges and universities worldwide.
