Sera-Brynn recognized for its expansion and innovative service offerings on the Cybersecurity 500 list of the hottest and most innovative cybersecurity firms in the world

Suffolk, Va., Nov. 18, 2016 — Cybersecurity firm Sera-Brynn, on the strength of its audit and advisory services, retained its no. 10 global ranking, no. 7 standing in the U.S. and top-ranked position in Virginia in the Cybersecurity Ventures rankings of the top 500 firms in the world.

The Cybersecurity 500 list for the Q4 2016 tracks the hottest and most innovative cybersecurity firms in the world. The list was released this week.

Cybersecurity Ventures cited Sera-Brynn for growing its billings substantially over the past year while opening a second office in Newport News, Va., earlier this year in June.

Steve Morgan, founder and CEO at Cybersecurity Ventures is Editor-in-Chief of the Cybersecurity 500 and described in a statement how companies make the list.

“We continuously look at thousands of companies for inclusion in the Cybersecurity 500, by soliciting feedback from CISOs, IT security practitioners and service providers and researching hundreds of cybersecurity events and news sources that we follow,” Morgan said.

One of Sera-Brynn’s innovations in its holistic cybersecurity services is its offerings to contractors that do business with the Department of Defense (DoD) who are facing a deadline at the end of 2017 to achieve mandatory compliance with new cybersecurity regulations. The process for Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance can take six to 12 months and the Sera-Brynn service includes assistance with compliance cost recovery.

“This latest ranking affirms our position as an innovator in the cybersecurity risk management sector, particularly as we service a broad, diverse and growing stable of clients,” said Sera-Brynn CEO Rob Hegedus. “We’re honored to be recognized for providing our clients with a range of cybersecurity services efficiently and effectively, particularly in the DoD sector as federal government contractors are under the gun to meet these new DFARS compliance requirements.”

Hegedus added that the firm is strategically positioned to continue its growth curve and industry-leading service offerings into 2017.
