Sera-Brynn To Celebrate Small Businesses This Month At Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Cybersecurity Training Event

Businesses of all sizes are susceptible to data breaches and should prepare now.

Point blank. Every organization, in every industry, at every size, is vulnerable to a data breach.

Our team at Sera-Brynn is pleased to announce that this month, in honor of Small Business Month, we will present tips for the more than 14,000 small businesses on the Virginia Peninsula (Newport News, Hampton, York County, James City and Poquoson) during the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce (VPCC) May Small Business Training Blitz.

The VPCC’s training blitz includes a series of training events to boost and engage small businesses in the Peninsula region, teaching business owners more about accounting, marketing and, yes, cybersecurity.

Sera-Brynn’s Executive Vice President Heather Engel will present “Understanding Cyber Security for Small Businesses” Monday, May 11 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

During the presentation, Engel aims to show small business owners how to mitigate cyber risk by identifying vulnerabilities, testing them against a wide array of threats and assessing against current suggested and mandatory compliance standards.

As an industry-leading loss prevention service, Sera-Brynn works to help businesses identify their vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation actions, test defenses against known and unknown cyber threats and ensure they meet all applicable industry and government compliance requirements.

Sera-Brynn’s team has been developing, managing and securing the most complex and critical computer and network infrastructures in the world since the 1990s and today helps a wide array of clients, including Fortune 100 companies, hospital networks, retail establishments, financial institutions and small businesses.

The result? Hardened security and the strongest firewall against litigation, fines, penalties and costly incident response expenses.
