Sera-Brynn To Present “Practical Solutions For Improving Your Cybersecurity” at Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Training Event

HAMPTON, Va. — On January 14, from 12 to 1 p.m., Heather Engel of Sera-Brynn, the top rated cybersecurity firm in Virginia, will present “Practical Solutions For Improving Your Cybersecurity ” at the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce’s (VPCC) monthly Pink Bag Lunch.

Engel will discuss the effects of data breaches becoming widespread in all companies, how to determine if businesses need cybersecurity and how to choose the right products to secure your business.

“Every company, large or small needs to be aware of the threat of cyber attacks and the steps to take in the event that it becomes the victim of one.”

The idea that small businesses are not susceptible to cyber attacks is a misconception, Engel said. “Many cyber attacks result from a lack of awareness of basic security measures.”

“We teach businesses how to approach cyber security from a risk management perspective. Based on your risk, you then prioritize spending. Businesses need to understand the information they have that is potentially valuable to an attacker and protect it accordingly,” said Engel.

The lunch is scheduled to begin at noon, and includes 10 minutes of business networking, where members are encouraged to make business connections and distribute business cards.

Lunch will be provided by one of VPCC’s 2016 Catering Sponsors.

The cost of the event is $5 for VPCC members and $10 for non-members.

Seating is limited. Reserve a spot by registering online at http://business.virginiapeninsulachamber.com/events/details/pink-bag-luncheon-practical-solutions-for-imporving-your-cybersecurity-4203.

The event will be held at the VPCC located at 21 Enterprise Parkway, Suite 100 in Hampton, Va. 23666.
